I finished the film 56 Up and WOW! It really makes you think about the way people develop into themselves as well as the way relationships evolve over time. I'm halfway to 56, and it seems like I got here so quickly. I have a dog, a few close friends, and have started my 5th year at a job that I love, teaching French to high schoolers. I remember being 21: working towards my teaching degree, watching Gilmore Girls with my roommate, babysitting Greta and Isaac, loving my boyfriend like crazy, and dyeing and cutting my hair like Amélie. I remember being 14: starting my freshmen year of high school, playing in the drumline, learning how to sword fight in drama club, obsessing over what I was going to wear the next day; I had short hair then too. I remember being 7: moving to Bettendorf from Arlington Heights and being the new girl in school, reading Sideways Stories from Wayside School, doing well at timed math tests, enjoying art class with Mrs. Hirsch, and making up games for me and my siblings to play. Where will I be 7 years from now?
